Terms of Service

CoGo is operated by Brendan Born, a sole proprietor based in Washington State, USA, doing business as "CoGo" (referred to here as "we," "us," or "CoGo"). By creating an account or using the product, you agree to these Terms of Service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use CoGo. If you're under 18, you may only use CoGo with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. By signing up, you represent that you meet these requirements.

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens in your account. If you share a trip with friends, they can see and edit anything you add to that trip. Don't share an account between multiple real people. Invite each person individually.

Some features are available only on a paid plan. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on the plan you pick) and renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable. All payments are processed by Stripe under their terms.

Flights, stays, and activities shown in CoGo come from third-party providers and our affiliate partners. When you click "Book it," you're sent to that provider to complete your purchase under their terms. CoGo isn't a travel agent and isn't responsible for the booking, payment, cancellation, refund, or delivery of any travel product. Any issues with a booking must be resolved with the provider directly.

Food discovery and published Google-backed place cards are Google Maps Platform powered features. Your use of Google Maps features and content is subject to the Google Maps End User Additional Terms and the Google Privacy Policy.

Travel search, pricing, and booking features are not offered to users located in California, Florida, Hawaii, or Washington while we complete state travel-seller registrations. This restriction is based on your physical location when you use those features, which we may determine from your device's network address, not on your state of residence.

Everything else in CoGo is available everywhere: trip planning, the board, group chat, cost splitting and settlements, the Book Builder, and printed photo books. If you're located in one of the states above, only travel search, pricing, and booking are withheld.

CoGo helps friends track who owes who and settle up. We provide the math and the rails; actual settlement happens between the people on the trip. CoGo doesn't guarantee repayment between users and doesn't hold or transfer user funds.

You own what you put into CoGo: trip notes, photos, itineraries. By adding content, you grant us the limited license we need to store it, display it to you and your trip collaborators, back it up, and operate the product. Don't add anything you don't have the right to share.

When you publish a board, you grant CoGo a limited, non-exclusive license to host, reproduce, format, display, and make the selected published version available as you choose. The visible collaborator content and selected user-owned media in that version can become public through either visibility choice. A Public board may be read without signing in, included in CoGo discovery, shared by others, and presented to search engines for indexing. An Unlisted board is available to anyone with its link and may be shared, but is excluded from CoGo discovery and our indexing instructions. Unlisted does not mean private or confidential.

Publishing creates a durable, immutable publication copy of the visible content and selected media for each version. CoGo uses that copy to serve the active publication lineage and exact historical version links while it is retained under our Privacy Policy. This license is limited to operating the publication and CoGo's copy and remix features. It does not transfer your ownership or give CoGo or another person rights in third-party material that you do not hold. You separately choose whether future remixes may be published. When a person copies a published version into an independent CoGo trip, CoGo records an immutable receipt of the source version and the source publication's permission at the time of that remix. Later permission changes do not rewrite that receipt. The resulting trip or publication is independent. Changing, pausing, unpublishing, revoking, or deleting the source does not automatically remove an existing independent copy. CoGo cannot recall copies that another person has downloaded, shared, cached, or indexed outside CoGo.

Existing published remixes are not automatically hidden or revoked with their source, and moderation of each published remix is separate. A future attempt to publish a changed remix of a hidden or revoked source may require staff clearance. An unchanged downstream copy is not eligible for downstream publication.

You acknowledge the publication terms for the initial publication and again for each new immutable published version. Switching between Public and Unlisted, or resuming an existing version, uses that version's recorded acknowledgement only while the applicable policy remains current. Choosing or changing a creator byline requires a separate acknowledgement; removing a byline does not.

The published-board provisions in these Terms are provisional and pending review by CoGo's outside law firm. CoGo may update them after that review and will handle meaningful changes under the Changes section below.

Your private account profile and trip membership are not a public creator byline. A creator byline appears only when you separately choose and approve the exact name shown. Removing a byline removes it from public display and does not by itself remove the board. CoGo may retain private publication-operation records of the prior byline and consent while the source trip remains. A moderation snapshot containing the prior byline follows the moderation retention and legal-hold rules below.

Visible board images and the chosen listing cover become part of the immutable published version. Selected user-owned media from the board, Trip Drive, or a new upload is copied into publication-only storage as a metadata-stripped derivative, so the public board does not depend on a mutable private file URL. Google-backed Food photos are requested when a board is viewed and are not copied into the immutable version. That version stores the Google Place ID, so current provider content may change or become unavailable. You confirm that you have the right to publish the media you supply. Eligible Unsplash images retain the required photographer and Unsplash attribution and may be delivered from Unsplash's servers under Unsplash's terms and policies. CoGo does not grant you rights in third-party images.

CoGo may hide or revoke a board after an authorized moderation review. A report alone does not automatically hide a board. We may retain limited report, evidence, appeal, enforcement, and audit records needed to investigate abuse, protect users, handle disputes, comply with law, and preserve accountability. If an appeal is available for a decision, the notice or account flow will identify the applicable process and deadline.

Don't use CoGo to harass other users, post illegal or infringing content, scrape or mass-extract data, attempt to compromise the service, or send unsolicited messages. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these rules.

You can delete your account at any time from settings. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or behave in a way that harms other users. On termination, your access ends; data deletion follows the timelines in our Privacy Policy.

CoGo is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do our best to keep it running and your data safe, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or that any specific feature will continue to be available.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CoGo and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill arising out of your use of the product. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid CoGo in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) USD $100.

You agree to indemnify and hold CoGo harmless from any claims or damages arising from your use of the product, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing a formal claim, please email us so we can try to resolve the issue informally, most things can be sorted out that way. If a dispute can't be resolved informally, it will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

We may update these Terms over time. For meaningful changes, we'll notify active users by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of CoGo after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

CoGo offers printed photo books fulfilled by a third-party print partner (Prodigi). When you order a book, CoGo acts as the merchant of record: we charge your payment method via Stripe, collect any applicable taxes, and pass your shipping address + print-ready file to the print partner to fulfil. Once an order ships, tracking is surfaced inside the app.

Production lead times vary by print partner location and shipping destination, typical timeline is 3–10 business days for production plus carrier delivery time. Book orders cannot be edited after payment. See our Refund Policy for cancellation and return terms.
